Important

This tool only converts a dose you already have into syringe units. It does not recommend doses and is not medical advice. Always confirm your vial strength, diluent volume and dose with the prescriber or pharmacist who supplied them, and check the units printed on your own syringe — mixing up mg, mcg and units is a common and serious dosing error. Use a new sterile syringe each time and follow the storage instructions supplied with your medication.

About the peptide reconstitution calculator

Lyophilised (freeze-dried) peptide vials are supplied as a powder measured in milligrams. Before use they are reconstituted by adding a measured volume of bacteriostatic water, which produces a solution of a known concentration in mg per ml.

The calculation is straightforward arithmetic: divide the vial strength by the water volume to get the concentration, divide your dose by that concentration to get the volume to draw, then multiply by the syringe's units-per-ml to get the marking to fill to. A U-100 insulin syringe holds 100 units per millilitre, so 0.1 ml is 10 units.

Changing the amount of water does not change how much peptide you receive \u2014 it changes the concentration, and therefore how many syringe units make up the same dose. More water means a larger, easier-to-measure volume for small doses.

This page shows the full working so you can check every step yourself. It does not recommend doses: the vial strength, diluent volume and dose should all come from the clinician or pharmacist who supplied your medication.
